The European Microscopy Society
The European Microscopy Society is a rather young society created in 2000.
The aims of the European Microscopy Society are to promote the use and the quality of advanced microscopy in all its aspects in Europe, with particular reference to developments in instrumentation and methodology and novel applications of all types of microscopy. Although light, electron and scanning-probe microscopy are expected to occupy a large place in the activities of The Society, no form of microscopy is excluded.
To achieve its goals, the Society jointly organises every four years the European Microscopy Congresses with local organisations. The objectives of the congress are to:
- promote European wide cooperation between national societies for microscopy
- encourage the publication of proceedings.
- promote the interactions of academia and industry for the welfare of microscopy in general
